Obituary

Jackson Polk Farrar, 25, of Mantachie, MS, entered into his eternal rest on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice. Born on May 10, 2000, in Tupelo, MS, to Jennifer Marks Farrar and William Lloyd Farrar, Jackson possessed a quiet strength and a gentle nature that lit up every room he entered. He was surrounded by the family and friends who loved him dearly as he completed his second courageous battle with cancer. His life was a testament to the words of 2 Timothy 4:7: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

At just two years old, Jackson defied an 8% survival rate to beat AML Leukemia for the first time. During that journey, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital became a place of profound importance to Jackson and his family, providing the care and hope that allowed him to overcome the odds and live a life defined by a servant's heart.

A 2018 graduate of Mooreville High School, Jackson went on to earn a degree in Tool and Die from Itawamba Community College. Jackson found his professional calling at Auto Parts Manufacturing of Mississippi (APMM), where he dedicated himself to his career as a Maintenance Technician. He was always eager to learn and formed close bonds with a "work family" that valued his dependability and his willingness to help anyone in need.

Jackson's heart for service was most evident through his lifelong connection to Camp Rising Sun, a camp dedicated to children battling or having battled cancer. After attending as a camper since the age of four, he transitioned into a dedicated volunteer counselor as an adult. He often planned his personal vacations around camp weeks, ensuring he could give back to the community that had shaped him.

An avid fisherman and a true car enthusiast, Jackson loved being by the lake and spending countless hours tinkering on his cars. He was particularly proud of his Miata and his '23 Toyota 4Runner. A self-described "foodie," he delighted in scouting out unique local eateries, but he was truly happiest simply being with his family and friends. Whether they were hanging out in person or connecting through gaming from afar, he cherished every moment of connection. He had a deep love for his niece and nephews, who will always remember their "Uncle Jack Jack" for his playfulness and love.

Jackson is survived by his parents, William and Jennifer Farrar of Tupelo, MS; his brother, Chaise Farrar (Hannah) of Huntsville, AL; and his beloved niece and nephews, Emma, Ean, and Noah. He also leaves behind his aunt, Patricia, and uncle, Barney Farrar; his special great-uncle and great-aunts, Dwight and Sara Wilson and Pam Hand; as well as a host of cousins and extended family members.

His memory will be cherished by his closest friends, Jaylin Wilson (Megan), Brady Willis, Braden Holcomb (Mary-Grace), and Austin Owen, as well as special friends Ben and Diana Hardin of Hardin's Country Store. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert Farrar Sr., Joyce Dew, and Gary and Kathy Marks; his great-uncle, Gerald Hand; and his uncle, Albert Farrar Jr.

A celebration of Jackson's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Mt. Vernon Chapel in Tupelo, MS, with Bro. Gary Gray officiating. Visitation will take place on Monday, April 27, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Priceville Cemetery in Tupelo, MS.

Pallbearers will be Chaise Farrar, Jaylin Wilson, Derek Farrar, Braden Holcomb, Austin Owen, and Brady Willis. Honorary pallbearers include his work family at APMM.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the NMMC Hospice nurses for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Camp Rising Sun P.O. Box 8241, Columbus, MS 39705, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
